There does not need to be one monumental thing that breaks up a marriage. Rather, small things can add up over time and a couple may just realize they are happier separated than together.
This is what a source is saying was the case between Kris and Bruce Jenner. The couple, who have been married for 22 years, announced their separation on Tuesday.
Kris Jenner is the mom and manager of Kim Kardashian. The family, including the two children Kris and Bruce have together, is stars on the reality TV show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
At this point, the Kardashians are stars in their own right. However, what many might not realize is that before the TV show, Bruce was the real celebrity who won the Decathlon gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympics and went on to secure a number of deals, including his famous Wheaties endorsement.
Yet, even though a once well-known athlete, many wonder just what will happen in the couple’s divorce. The two are reportedly worth $125 million and have no prenuptial agreement.
Some question if Bruce is the one who will wind up on top, as some wonder if he could make the argument that he gave up his own career to stay at home and raise the couple’s two children, Kylie and Kendall. This could even end up being used as a push for why he deserves spousal support, to be able to keep up with the lifestyle.
At this point though, everything is merely speculation. However, there are lessons to be learned for the average Missouri father who is going through a divorce.
Granted, in the average divorce millions are not at stake, but a stay-at-home dad could have the same argument of why he should be awarded alimony. If the father was the one to stay home and raise the children, he most likely had to sacrifice some of this own professional aspirations along the way.
Along these same lines, a stay-at-home dad who has already spent years raising his children could have a good argument for why he should be awarded custody of his children too.
In the end, these are all things to think about when preparing for a divorce in Missouri.
