In November of 2009 “Real Housewives of D.C.” star Michaele Salahi and her husband Tareq Salahi became almost instantly famous when the two were photographed with the president at a White House state dinner that they attended without invitation.
However, now it seems the couple’s relationship will also be remembered for the reason behind their divorce filing: Michaele Salahi had been having an affair with Journey guitarist Neal Schon.
The story broke last Tuesday when Michaele Salahi did not return home on Tuesday. At the time her husband worried that she was in some kind of danger and feared she had been kidnapped, but then later learned that she had really gone with Schon to Tennessee where Journey was playing.
According to the divorce petition that has already been filed, Michaele Salahi was reportedly having an affair behind her husband’s back with Schon for quite some time. The band Journey had also even supposedly paid for some of her expenses, including travel.
According to a sheriff connected to the case, Michaele Salahi was contacted by a deputy when she was supposedly missing, and said she was “with a good friend and was where she wanted to be.”
In the divorce petition, it states that Michaele Salahi said she was not coming home, and therefore has given up and abandoned the couple’s home and marriage.
Tareq Salahi said that this entire ordeal has caused him a great deal of humiliation and embarrassment.
“There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation,” he has said about his marriage to his wife of eight years.
